Glory Be

Background

This song is based on the traditional Trinitarian doxology, the Gloria Patri. In an age of spiritual curiosity as well as spiritual confusion, it is important be be clear about what we mean when we say “God.” As Christians, we worship a Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Each verse focuses on the activity of one of the persons of the Trinity. We sing “Glory Be” to worship and praise a God who is, was, and will be actively involved in the lives of His people. The song seeks to review the mighty works of God in a context of praise. This simple, upbeat anthem is written to be easily learned and sung by the congregation.
