Holy Holy Holy (Sanctus)

Background

This is a setting of the liturgical hymn “Holy, Holy, Holy” or “The Sanctus.” The text is a celebration of the presence of God. By combining Isaiah’s vision with the Triumphal Entry of Jesus, the text draws us to worship Jesus as the Holy God Almighty. We join our voices with the angels, the crowds, and all the church in all the world to celebrate the presence of Christ in our midst. It is quite fitting that this hymns of praise is traditionally part of the communion liturgy, as the church celebrates the presence of Christ in His body and blood in the bread and wine.  We celebrate the presence of our Savior by singing “Holy Holy Holy.”
