Hope Is Our Anchor

Background

Where do we turn in hard times?  What serves as a foundation that will hold steady when all else seems uncertain?  Hope in Christ serves as such a foundation.  In Hebrews 6:19, the writer refers to hope as an anchor for the soul.  It is solid and sure, because it is based on what Christ has done for us as our High Priest. On the cross, Jesus served as both High Priest and offering.  This sacrifice and the salvation that flows from it cannot be undone by any of the challenges that we face.

This song was written as the theme song for St. John’s Lutheran School in Napa, CA for the 2014-2015 school year.  The imagery of this song proved to be especially relevant that school year, as Napa experienced a significant earthquake as the school year began.
