Lamb of God (Agnus Dei)

Background

This is a setting of the “Agnus Dei,” the liturgical hymn sung by the congregation as it prepares to receive Communion. The text draws the worshipers to reflect upon Christ’s sacrificial death, by which we have forgiveness and peace. We worship Christ as the Lamb of God, and are renewed in the fruit of his sacrifice as He comes to us in bread and wine, in body and blood.
