This is a setting of the Kyrie, the liturgical prayer of the church as it comes together in worship.  It is a prayer for the church as it gathers, the church in all the world, and the rule and reign of Christ in all the world.  This is an antiphonal setting with the leader singing the prayer and the congregation responding with “Lord Have Mercy.”
